Our team’s background includes Texas Comptroller audit experience, industry experience, and decades in public accounting, including leadership roles in large CPA firms.

Experience
John LaBorde has more than 30 years of experience in state and local tax (SALT), primarily in public accounting. He began his career as an auditor for the Texas Comptroller’s Office before transitioning to public accounting, ultimately becoming a SALT partner at a large CPA firm. His background provides clients a combination of technical depth, practical insight, and a clear understanding of how state tax rules are applied in real-world audits
